Valve Announced Steam Controller

On Monday Valve announced SteamOS and on Wednesday they announced Steam Machines and today they announced the final thing remaining the Steam Controller. It really wasn't hard to guess what was coming.

Official statement from Valve

Openness
The Steam Controller was designed from the ground up to be hackable. Just as the Steam Community and Workshop contributors currently deliver tremendous value via additions to software products on Steam, we believe that they will meaningfully contribute to the design of the Steam Controller. We plan to make tools available that will enable users to participate in all aspects of the experience, from industrial design to electrical engineering. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Steam Controller can be use by any device that is running a Steam client, that means you can use it on your Steam Machines and PC.

This was the third and final announcement from Valve, the end of so called Valve week. It still feels like they could of done this with just one event, but hey more pres time is more pres time. Will Valve succeed in their attempt of invading your living room, will see when the devices start selling early next year.
