Satya Nadella is the new CEO of Microsoft

After months of rumors and just about every important name in the IT industries mentioned for the role of the new CEO of Microsoft we finally have the official news that Satya Nadella is the new CEO for the Redmond based company.

Who is Satya Nadella? Well he is 46 years old, been working at Microsoft for 22 years. Before that he worked for Sun Microsystems and until this morning he was executive vice president of cloud and enterprise in Microsoft. Satya Nadella wasted no time and has already issued a letter to the employees.

“While we have seen great success, we are hungry to do more,” Nadella said. “Our industry does not respect tradition – it only respects innovation. This is a critical time for the industry and for Microsoft. Make no mistake, we are headed for greater places – as technology evolves and we evolve with and ahead of it. Our job is to ensure that Microsoft thrives in a mobile and cloud-first role.”

Strong words, lets hope he lives up to the challenge. Many fans of the Redmond IT giant are happy that the new CEO is an engineer, not an economist like the previous CEO Steve Ballmer. Satya Nadella is only the third CEO in the company history and honestly we wish him all the best at his new job.
